As the Video Production Specialist, you lead and oversee the planning, management and execution of the clients’ video projects—including scripted, unscripted and animated content. You play a key role in pre-production, from concept and scripting through to logistics and crew coordination. You participate in creative brainstorms, apply critical thinking to streamline workflows and collaborate closely with the Video Team, Marketing Managers and Creative Directors to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of clients’ video production projects, ensuring timelines, quality and client expectations are met.
  • Lead the pre-production function within the department, establishing best practices, mentoring team members and ensuring consistency across all projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding them through each phase of production and advising on effective video marketing strategies.
  • Develop and manage production schedules and logistics, including call sheets, location scouting, crewing and talent coordination.
  • Collaborate and communicate clearly with directors, editors, freelancers and internal account teams to meet timelines, adapt plans and deliver strong creative outcomes.
  • Participate in creative brainstorms, pitch sessions and content planning meetings to help shape compelling video ideas.
  • Manage project budgets, balancing cost-efficiency with production quality
  • Approach production challenges with critical thinking and problem-solving skills, proactively identifying improvements and solutions.
  • Stay up to date on video trends, production techniques, and digital marketing best practices.

Performance Goals and Milestones

  • Lead and Optimize Video Production Processes: Own the pre-production and production phases across scripted, unscripted and animated projects. Develop and manage production schedules, call sheets, logistics and resource coordination (talent, crew, locations). Apply and continuously improve best practices to drive consistency, efficiency and quality across teams and projects.
  • Deliver Seamless Video Project Execution: Manage the day-to-day execution of small to mid-sized productions, ensuring delivery on time, on budget and in line with creative goals. Proactively identify and resolve production challenges to maintain momentum and uphold a high standard of work.
  • Act as a Strategic Client Partner: Collaborate with internal teams to build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the video production lifecycle. Provide guidance on video best practices, maintain clear and timely communication on project progress, and offer strategic solutions that enhance client satisfaction and project alignment.
  • Mentor and Develop Team Members: Guide and mentor junior team members and interns, helping them grow professionally by providing feedback, training and support, while ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to contribute effectively to video production.

  • A true collaborator with an understanding and appreciation for modern marketing
  • Someone with an understanding of budgeting, estimating and scoping work
  • A hard worker, a team player, a good listener, a nice person (all of the good stuff)

Key Challenges & Growth Opportunities in the Role

  • Managing Multiple Projects Simultaneously: Juggling overlapping projects in different stages—pre-production, production and post. This can stretch attention and increase the risk of oversight, especially with varying deadlines, budgets and client needs.
  • Client Expectations and Feedback Loops: Balancing evolving client feedback with fast-paced timelines requires professionalism and strong time management. Misalignment can lead to rework, stress and scope creep.
  • Tight Timelines and Budgeting: Meeting deadlines and staying within budget while maintaining quality can lead to stress, particularly on high-priority projects.
  • Cross-Team Coordination and Communication: Ensuring smooth collaboration among internal teams, freelancers and clients can be challenging, particularly when facing delays and unexpected changes.
  • Unpredictable Production Variables: On-set issues like equipment failure, weather disruptions or talent no-shows require quick problem-solving and adaptability to keep productions on track.
