As the Business Development Specialist, you maintain a consistent flow of opportunities in UpHouse’s business development and talent management pipelines. You will research organizations that have good potential for an UpHouse partnership and create and test outreach plans that are effective and genuine for our agency. This is a full-time position with remote work opportunities and room to grow under the mentorship of a Business Development Director & Co-Owner. This position will work with both the Business Development and UpHouse Talent teams.

This role will include a performance-based commission/bonus structure.

We are looking for someone located in Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver or Winnipeg, but we are open to other applicants if it’s the right fit.

Responsibilities

  • Research potential good client partnership fits for our business and develop strong and quality lead lists
  • Conduct consistent outbound sales reachouts to target lists in order to generate interest in UpHouse and contribute to our lead generation
  • Work with our association and chamber of commerce partners to strengthen these relationships and identify potential opportunities
  • Qualify leads
  • Report on sales efforts
  • Build roster of partnerships for UpHouse Talent team & influencer network
  • Maintain databases and keep contacts organized in UpHouse’s CRM
  • Contribute to our sales system

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a marketing or sales role
  • Strong communication skills, both written (emails) and oral (virtual calls)
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or other CRMs is an asset
  • Existing advertising agency experience is an asset, but not required
  • Network of connections with LA/California businesses is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate and work with a team
  • Strong organizational skills, able to sort and maintain electronic assets
  • Able to troubleshoot problems and find solutions
  • Comfortable managing your own time, tasks and responsibilities

As a Production Designer, you are comfortable getting your hands into a variety of work. You bring your experience to designing materials for a range of applications across many industries.

Responsibilities

  • Get top-notch graphic design work out the door
  • Ensure production standards and brand consistencies are maintained among both print and digital projects
  • Design a variety of export-ready materials related to campaigns, brands and websites
  • Create and maintain clean working files
  • Manage your own schedule, deadlines and projects
  • Follow direction given by our marketing managers and design team to deliver a variety of design collateral
  • Be a reliable, responsible team member

Experience

  • Post-secondary education in graphic design
  • Minimum two years of industry experience
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
  • Experience with print production standards
  • A keen eye for detail
  • A person who is organized, disciplined and maintains clean working files
  • Dedication to graphic consistency and quality across all channels
  • Strong layout and typesetting skills

As a public relations professional, you help our clients develop and execute their public relations strategies. We’re looking for public relations professionals in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver and Los Angeles but are always looking to expand our network of collaborators throughout Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the UpHouse PR team and clients to develop and implement PR strategies
  • Write media releases, backgrounders and FAQs
  • Coordinate and run media events
  • Prep clients for interviews and help craft key messages
  • Craft and pitch stories to media
  • Monitor and report on results from PR initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with our network of designers, digital strategists, marketers and creative professionals
  • Participate in brainstorms, planning and brand sessions
  • Manage and maintain project budgets

Experience

We need someone who complements our collaborative culture and wants to build their experience working with a range of creatives from different industries, perspectives and backgrounds.

  • Several years of experience working in the PR industry
  • Post-secondary training in marketing and communications
  • Discipline, organization and self-management skills, and are on the ball
  • The ability to collaborate and an understanding and appreciation for modern marketing and communications
